主要从事高分子材料的研究。主持《高分子材料领域高质量博士研究生培养的探索与实践》，被评为“上海市教学成果奖一等奖”，获“国家级教学成果奖二等奖”。在发表学术论文约200篇，其中在Adv. Mater., Macromolecules, Chem. Commun., Chem. Mater., Langmiur，J. Polym. Sci. Part A: Polym. Chem., Polymer 等国际知名杂志上发表SCI论文170余篇，中国发明专利授权28项；1996年和1999年获上海市高校优秀青年教师，2000、2005年度两次获得上海市科技进步二等奖，目前承担的课题有：上海市科委基础重点项目，国际合作项目若干项等。
